Something healthy. Don't forget while indulging in all the wonderful Christmas treats this time of year to add in something healthy! Berries are a great way to boost your health. Just to mane a few of the benefits to eating berries:
Blueberries are one of the most antioxidant rich foods in the world.
Strawberries are high in fiber and vitamin C.
Blackberries are an American super-food! They have a high ORAC score, a measure of antioxidants and other chemical substances that fight disease.
Raspberries contain substances called phenolic phytochemicals which have antioxidant properties.
So why wouldn't you want to have a winter berry antioxidant smoothie?
1 cup fresh or frozen mixed berries.
1 cup dairy free milk such as rice milk, almond milk, hemp milk, soy milk.
Agave or sweetener of choice add to your personal taste.
Ice handful.
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend. Check for sweetness. Adjust if needed.
Optional add ins: For extra antioxidant protection, we added in a heaping tablespoon of powdered Superfruit Blend by Naitavs Naturals.
Dairy free yogurt. Protein powder.
Look at the color!
